REGISTERED NURSE (PRE OP)

Job Description

  POSITION SUMMARY:  The Staff RN, Pre-Op Interview, provides pre-op assessment and care of pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.  Performs perioperative care of the patient in the PreOp/Holding phase of preparation for surgery.   
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:  Must have a current Georgia RN license.  Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing. BSN preferred.  BCLS required.  ACLS and PALS certification to be obtained within six months of hire.  Specialty certification preferred. Minimum of one (1) year Pre-Op Holding experience required.   Critical Care or PACU experience required or completion of Critical Care Course within six month of employment.  Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.  Must be able to lift patients, heavy instruments, and equipment, stretch, bend and stoop.
