Walton Regional Medical Center is a 77-bed acute care facility with a 58-bed nursing home. We offer state-of-the-art equipment and provide a full range of inpatient and outpatient services. We currently have four full time hospitalists. Our Radiology Department is a comprehensive service providing quality as well as state of the art imaging. We are online with the PACS System (Picture Archive Communications System) for viewing images. We have a full service Laboratory that is staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Our Lab also provides assistance with precertification. WRMC’s commitment to our community’s health and wellness is evident in the Walton Regional HealthWorks Center with an extensive offering of education seminars, support groups and disease management services.

New Replacement Hospital facility coming in 2011 will feature:
A 3 level facility with approximately 190,000 square feet.
77 bed patient tower including a 12 bed ICU, patient wings, and Birthing Center with large well-appointed Labor & Delivery suites. Interesting fact is that the facility is designed so that rooms do not overlook rooftops but view a well landscaped property conducive to healing.
Patient services (ER, Radiology, OR, Lab, Cardiopulmonary, Pharmacy, etc.) all conveniently located on the 1st floor.
Facility is designed with Outpatient services in mind with separate entrances for ER, Outpatient services, and visitors.
4 OR suites, 2 endoscopy suites, 1 C-section suite. All equipped with new state-of-the-art systems and equipment.
Approximately a $100 million investment in Walton County.
Facility located on a 60+ acre campus with future development potential consistent with healthcare mission.
Site will include a stand alone state-of-the-art Energy Plant that will be equipped with multiple back up systems.
Helipad will be constructed on the site for air transportation.
Space designated in the new facility for Community activities, meetings, health resources center, etc. with separate entrance. Cafeteria will be open and spacious with easy access for the community and will include outdoor courtyard.
Facility is designed to allow for growth and can be expanded up and out without interrupting current operations. Facility has capacity to grow to an approximately 200 bed facility.
A 60,000 square foot Medical Office Building will be built adjacent to the hospital with some hospital based services (Sleep Lab, Wound Care Center, Women's Diagnostics, etc.) and physician office space. Campus is planned to allow an additional MOB to be built for future growth.
Community
Historic Walton County is located between Atlanta and Athens, home of the University of Georgia. Walton County has been home to seven of Georgia’s governors. Walton County is experiencing rapid growth of 4.87%. The population in 2000 was 60,687 and is projected to be 107,374 by 2011. The number of households in Walton County is expected to increase from the 2000 Census of 21,307 to 37,639. The average household income is to grow to $82,146 by 2011. (Environmental Systems Research Institute, 2006 U.S. Bureau of the Census, 2000-2004). Walton County is a classic, Southern community with many historic homes and farmland still around that is experiencing the sprawl from Atlanta and Athens.
The Walton County Public School System serves approximately 12,000 students in grades K-12. Fourteen schools are located in the district. These include eight elementary schools, three middle schools, two high schools, The Walton Career Academy, and a Performance Learning Center. In addition, many private school options are available including George Walton Academy (Monroe), Loganville Christian Academy, Faith Academy, Prince Avenue Christian School, and Covenant Christian Academy,
Many recreation opportunities are also available in Walton County including numerous golf courses, ball fields, parks, and water activities. Walton County has a very active sports and recreation department that is adding new facilities annually.
Numerous cultural opportunities are available in Walton County including local theater, concerts, art exhibitions, and an active downtown community. Visits to Athens or Atlanta for shows are also possible due to the close proximity of Walton County
